The link between you and the control bar is the harness.
Comfort, control, and durability are key features to have in your harness to enjoy your kiteboarding session. Poor harness choices will cause lots of discomfort.
We have tried them all and recommend the following harnesses.
For beginners, get a seat harness so it won't climb up on you. Seat harnesses will provide better support on your lower back and eliminate back pains. The seat harness also offers a lower hook position, which gives beginners more weight leverage and balance since the pull is closer to your center of gravity.
Want the best harness available, go with the DaKine Fusion harness. It has incredible back support, an internal belt system, and stays in place.
For intermediate to advanced kiteboarders, the new 2008 Pyro by DaKine is the BEST! It is amazing for toe side ridng as the bar can slide on the strap, while the harness itself stays in place, VERY comfortable.
Want versatility, check out the new 2008 Session Harness by Ocean Rodeo. It is a seat and a waist harness!
