The 3 line kite is the perfect compromise between a four line kite(best kite control) and a dual line kite(most basic kite control). The third line on the Predator allows the kite to reverse launch off the ground after a crash. This is extremely helpful. The third line also functions as part of the safety system to kill the power of the kite immediately by pulling the trailing edge of the kite towards the pilot collapsing the kite and eliminating the power of the kite.
