If air cannot easily go between the vanes of the wind spinner, it will swing instead of spin. This means your wind spinner is flat. To maximize the spinning effect of your metal wind spinner, the vanes will need to be spread apart. Begin spreading the vanes by pushing the center from the first vanes, leaving 1/4 to 1/2 inch spacing. Continue spacing the other vanes an equal distance from each other. Your wind spinner may need adjusted more than once to get it to spin properly. Remember, a swinging wind spinner means not enough air is getting through. Spread the vanes farther apart. A non-moving wind spinner means the vanes are too far apart, too much air is getting through. Move them closer together. Bend the vanes to the optimal 65 deg. angle.
